World leader in DSP and Analog semiconductor recognizes EBV's sales performance and demand creation strategy in a most difficult year
Munich, Germany -- Texas Instruments, the world leader in Digital Signal Processors and Analog Components, has for the first time recognized one of its European channel partners as Distributor of Year. EBV Elektronik, an Avnet Company, was named "Distributor of the Year 2001," in recognition of its sales performance and its strong efforts in creating new opportunities for TI's advanced product portfolio.
This recognition was all the more important, as 2001 proved to be a difficult year for the semiconductor industry and its distribution partners, worldwide. EBV Elektronik maintained its high level of sales for the TI portfolio and was able to create new business opportunities, especially in DSPs and advanced analog products, which were the main reasons cited for the award to EBV by TI's Director of European Distribution, Paul Scholten. "The market presented all sorts of difficulties in 2001. Therefore we were very pleased by the fact that EBV stood its ground and created many new design opportunities for our products. It was only a matter of months that EBV took on the new products of our Burr-Brown portfolio," Scholten said.
Patrick Zammit, President of EBV, thanked Texas Instruments for the honors: "It feels good to be TI's first European Distributor of the Year. With the strong support of TI, we were able to maintain our existing business and utilize the new offerings in the DSP and Analog arena to create additional opportunities with our customers in the various industry sectors. I am confident that TI will continue to like working with our committed analog and DSP specialist groups in securing further business opportunities."
With regards to the tremendous success that this award means for EBV, Zammit added: "And I would also like to thank our central and local teams who have put a lot of effort in supporting TI's portfolio throughout Europe, on the technical as well as on the logistical side of our service. The people of EBV will always make a big difference, not just towards customers but also towards suppliers."
EBV Elektronik, one of the largest semiconductor marketing specialists in Europe, the Middle East and Africa is also the industry leading organization in analog products and digital signal processors. To support these demanding technologies, EBV employs over 80 applications specialists, among them many analog experts and a pan-European competence team of highly experienced DSP specialists.
